One of the few areas in the upper city that sees traffic rivalling many lower city establishments is the Shrine of Wealth, the largest shrine dedicated to Daikoku no Kami. The shrine is particularly extravagant with its massive gold-coloured torii gate greeting the guests, and the grandiose architecture that is only made possible by the shrine's enjoyed prosperity. A large number of donated sake barrels, kazaridaru, line up the long path toward the temple proper. Many of the barrels have been provided by local breweries (many are from Kinsenka Breweries), but it has become an increasing trend that other corporate companies donate their own barrels in hopes of catching the Fortune's blessings.
The Shrine of Wealth sees constant visitors, even after the temple proper has closed its interior doors to the public after sundown. The gold torii gates and impressive structures are an attraction to many visitors. Meanwhile, the local merchants make it almost a daily ritual to properly venerate the gold statue of the Fortune, lest their profits might suffer. The shrine sees a large amount of donations every day, and it seems obvious when even the monks don't seem to be quite living the ascetic lifestyle.
The Shrine of Wealth also host smaller complexes in its interior, including one that keeps a massive statue of Kisada-no-kami, alongside the other six Great Fortunes.
