(Day 2, Mid-Morning) Black and White

[Bayushi Kazushi]

The reputation of this place won't easily scare off Bayushi Kazushi, who's determined that, if he's going to be on a tropical island, he's going to take a walk on the beach. He's going to look damned good while doing it, too...



He's chosen a white-dominated, modern outfit to contrast both the black sand of the beach and the traditionalist attire he's worn for the past two days. He doesn't seem to be walking to any point in particular, just strolling and enjoying the sound of the waves rolling in. As always, Kurumi is trailing right behind him in usual "guard" mode, while Katsumi has opted for a flattering bikini and has found a beach chair, where she sits sipping a morning mimosa while going over the day's market figures.

Will it be a quiet walk on the beach, or will the three have some company? Only time will tell...

Nearby there was grunts and the sound of impact. In that direction one would notice a palmtree shaking with each impact and the culprit at it's base.

Still in her sports attire, and quite sweaty at this point, Shiwahime was practicing various punches, jabs, hook and kicks against the base of the poor tree. Tough she was wearing handwraps, a bit of blood could be seen peeking through the cloth.

Headset on, she was humming the tune of a song has she continued to strike that particular bit of the local flora.

Kazushi doesn't have any interest in interrupting the Moto's morning workout, but his bodyguard Kurumi seems to be watching - both out of concern for her charges safety and in the interest of improving her own fitness regimen.

[Moto Shiwahime]

The Moto's form was fairly basic but solid. What she lacked on advanced training she compensated with physical strength...as the bark slowly being chipped away could indicate.

After a few more hits, the unicorn noticed the assembly of eyes on her

"Huh...good morning?"

[Bayushi Kazushi]

Just two eyes, really. Kazushi's watching the sky, concerned about the chance for another storm, and Katsumi's watching him.



Kurumi, on the other hand... The young woman bows deeply. "I'm sorry for disturbing you, Moto-sama," she says quietly, "but I was interested in your training. Fitness is important to me, after all..."

She glances over at her employer, the reason she puts forward so much effort into staying in shape.

[Moto Shiwahime]

''It's allright'' she waved the concern away before returning the bow ''Unarmed fighting is not my expertise but rather something that is useful to have in my toolbox.''

She glanced at the fancy boi some paces away

''Fitness is a worthy pursuit no matter what you do. What are you looking to improve?''

[Bayushi Kazushi]

"Close-up combat, definitely," Kurumi replies, a little more confidently. "I'm not a bad shot, but that doesn't help so much when an opponent gets in your face."

She subconsciously touches a scar on her left cheek as she says this.

[Moto Shiwahime]

''Ah'' she gave a nod of understanding ''I am fairly novice at unarmed brawling, like I said...I am decent at kenjutsu but mostly use scimitars...I am, however a master of chain weapons.''

Shiwahime quirked an eyebrow

''Very useful to help you immobilize someone and the techniques can be used with ropes...it's my prefered weapon, honestly.''

[Bayushi Kazushi]

"A weapon that would subdue or incapacitate would be useful indeed," Kurumi agrees, "as it means you have a captive to question."

[Moto Shiwahime]

''You can travel easily with it as well. Around your waist, across your torso or in a bag'' she noted

[Bayushi Kazushi]

Kurumi nods - portability is important, after all.

"It must be difficult to master such a weapon, though," she notes, "as it's certainly harder to control than something more rigid."

[Moto Shiwahime]

''It is'' Shiwahime had to agree, remembering the many time she received the weighted end of her practice chain straight in her face

''You need to be able to move your entire body to go along with the chain when it's extended. Grappling with it makes things easier but getting into a grapple in the first place still needs continuing awareness of what the chain is doing. Still worth it though''

[Bayushi Kazushi]

"There are some who use such weapons back home, so perhaps I'll look into studying with them after we leave Green Carp," muses Kurumi.

[Moto Shiwahime]

''If you have some free time, come see me. I can show you the basics and see if it's something you enjoy. I can also show you some pointed exercises.''

[Bayushi Kazushi]

Kurumi nods. "I'll do that. Apologies again for disturbing your training," she says and, with a bow, the bodyguard departs to rejoin her employer on his walk.
