[D1, LE] Duel!

[Bayushi Senshuken]

"Here we are!" Senshu announces as she parks the bike and takes her helmet off. "Just the right place!"

She helps Sumiko off the bike and looks at her. "Did you enjoy the ride? I didn't go too fast, right?"

[Susumu Sumiko]

Sumiko slides off the bike, taking her helmet off and sorting her hair for a few moments before shaking her head.

"If anything you seemed more reserved than usual" she commented with a small laugh as she put her bag on the floor, taking out the black and green trimmed drone that was still quite well polished "and the beach is a perfect place for it! Just don't aim for the water or you're buying me a new one."

She put the drone on the ground, taking a few moments to remember the instructions before firing it up and adding the black flag to the drone.

(ooc - I did all 6 potential rolls ahead of time as day change is today so we can get results in before day change. Rolls 1-3 are below, if I win any of those let me know as I did 4-6 already but expecting to lose in 3. We can still rp out all the battles though

[Bayushi Senshuken]

"Oh no! My touch is firm yet gentle. My aim is precise and only as intense as it is necessary. You know that!" She winks and takes her own drone out of her backpack. It is a black one and a red banner is carefully placed on it.

"Hopefully the battery level will suffice." She adds just before having the drone take off the ground.

[Susumu Sumiko]

Sumiko laughed, looking up to the drone as it started to take off.

"If it runs out of battery I win by default right?" she replied, moving into position and trying to catch Senshuken by surprise. She wasn't skilled at this but she had the element of the unexpected on her side! Maybe!

[Bayushi Senshuken]

"Definitely! But watch out for now!"

Senshu notices a few tall coconut trees nearby and presses on to lead Sumi's drone towards them.

"Will you hunt or be hunted, my little spider?"

[Susumu Sumiko]

There was a small frown. She knew any obstacles would be a massive disadvantage for her with her inexperience, so she tried to steer her drone away from the trees and back towards where they were.

"Nice strategy" she commented "I'd get stuck there."

[Bayushi Senshuken]

"Oh no!" She laughs and presses on. "We don't want that! Or you don't to be precise."The drone flies right towards Sumiko's and the moment she tries to stir it, Senshuken stirs as well ready to attack from the side.

"Scorpions don't have a web. Only a sting."

[Susumu Sumiko]

"Ah" Sumiko gasped as she tried to quickly react to the attack, but it wasn't anywhere near quickly enough and her drone was knocked down. She managed to stop it from hitting the ground though and moved a little away.

"That was a fast attack! I didn't even know it could go that quickly" she commented in surprise, trying to watch both her controls and Senshukens drone at the same time

"You have to take advantage of the wind and aim to get from a higher to a lower point. The extra force and the gravity will add up to your acceleration."

From here on things are easy for Senshuken. She does exactly what she advised Sumi to do. Her drone dives down and claims the Spider banner.

"Bayushi's second law of momentum says that balance must be restored." She spreads her arms open. "By all means, draw your revenge."

[Susumu Sumiko]

Sumiko saw the flag fall with a look of resignation. It made so much sense.

"Like a falcon claiming its prey" she said quietly, the look of resignation turning to a rare look of annoyance "it's so obvious. My apology for a poor battle" she bowed "I focused too much on comfort on the controls and nothing on the actual strategy itself. No need for revenge, the learning experience was more valuable."

[Bayushi Senshuken]

The Bayushi has her drone land and approaches the other woman. "There are things we could try to add. Modifications. Simple ones because I'm no expert but we can try it together. And practice. We could keep practicing. Today, tomorrow and everyday. Practice makes us better."

[Susumu Sumiko]

"I already started on that, I thought it would be simple as I had made modifications to a robot before but it turns out the design of these drones are very..." she paused to consider the best wording before going with "different. I'll continue trying though!"

She looked up at Senshuken, a small sigh.

"Forgive me, I know it sounds silly to be annoyed over a drone but I just got so focused on the controls that I didn't even consider how to win just how not to lose. I'll be ok."

[Bayushi Senshuken]

"I... understand." She says and stops talking.

Of course it isn't for long. She is incapable of staying silent for long. "Do I try to distract you now or let you get over it on your own?"

[Susumu Sumiko]

Sumiko laughed, shaking her head.

"You really are something Senshu-chan. I'm ok really, I'll get over it. I can't be amazing at everything right? I've never been a pilot after all. I'll just work on the drone and make it better that way! Or I'll let you win everything and you can win me the best prize, I hear all the prizes are plushies after all."

[Bayushi Senshuken]

''Yes, yes. I read that in their website.'' She looks at her. ''I hope that I win a really big one for you!''

''Wanna practice for now and do this again tomorrow or the day after tomorrow?''

[Susumu Sumiko]

"Let's practice for now. I could do with some pointers on how to attack better" Sumiko commented as she brought her drone over again "right now I'm always thinking on how to keep it afloat and avoid attacks and I don't know the best way to turn defense into attack."

[Bayushi Senshuken]

"It is very important to be aware of your surroundings. On both a small and a large scale. You need to be on alert for birds, for instance, and of course you need to do some reconnaissance for obstacles even before the match begins."

[Susumu Sumiko]

"How do you keep an eye on all of that and keep the drone afloat and attack? I'm always nervous it'll fall out of the sky" Sumiko said with a chuckle.

[Bayushi Senshuken]

''But it won't! Let's say for a moment that you don't pay attention to your drone for a few seconds. What will happen then other than it flying towards the direction that you last pinpointed? It will definetely not fall, I guarantee that.''

''But anyway. Practice, practice, practice. And a bit of engineering for a modification or two. That's my advice.''
