[Shinjo Suh-Hyun]

They say horses can be stubborn animals. Suh-Hyun wouldn't know, she wasn't a horse... probably. But she was a stubborn animal of the two legged variety. The Shinjo needed to maintain certain levels of fitness standards and she wanted to get a ground level look at the shopping district. Rain was merely an inconvenience until it wasn't.

Rain proof was really more rain resistant when it came to athletic jackets, her's had illustrated the difference not too long into her morning jog. Suh-Hyun had tut tutted and kept going. Until it turned out Shinjo pilots were also rain resistant but not rain proof, and now this particular one was sulking under an awning. Her glare upwards had not yet stopped the rain but she was slowly drying at least. And her grumpy expression had started to soften.

[Yoritomo Yakura]

Yakura observed the sulking samurai.

A mercenary part of her was ready to sell her an umbrella. The part of her that had a heart (yes, really) merely shrugged and walked closer. "Lovely weather we have out here, neh?" She let out a small laugh. "Just a little bit of an early morning...rain of hell..."

[Shinjo Suh-Hyun]

Suh-Hyun wanted to say it doesn't rain like this on Shinjo's Grace, but pointing out the obvious was hardly productive. So instead she just said, "It's wonderful." It was not in fact wonderful.

She regarded the Mantis for a moment and shuffled back a bit to make run under the awning for the newcomer. "Shinjo Suh-Hyun, a pleasure to meet you. Please forgive the circumstances."

[Yoritomo Yakura]

Yakura chuckled. "Yoritomo Yakura, humble owner of the Azure Dragon. I forgove you for causing the rain.""

She raised the umbrella. "Care to walk with me for a bit? You are anew arrival, I take it?"

Normally Suh-Hyun would refuse and just tough it out, but she was drenched and a little miserable. And some movement is better than no movement.

"Alright if you don't mind." She smiled, it looked sincere even if the effect was diminished by her current state. "Just arrived the other day. I was hoping to get a little exercise and learn some of the roads, but well weather happened."

"Azure Dragon? Is that a local shop?"

"Azure Dragon? Is that a local shop?"

"Exercise is certainly good. The local fare is quite good, so if you're not careful, you can put on some weight quite easily." Yakura glanced at her new compatriot. "Do you swim by any chance?" She let out a throaty laugh at her comment on the Azure Dragon. "Ah, my dear, the Dragon is premiere gambling establishment on the whole of Green Carp. Or at least Tango Island. It is moored on a pier on the Harbourfront, if you ever feel like visiting."

"Swim? Not often, pools aren't really something you see on warships. Well big ones at any rate." She tried to keep from taking too much of the umbrella, and subconsciously slouched a little to make it easier to keep the thing over her.

"A gambling establishment? That's moored? Is it like those weird river boats that were popular back during the early days of the empire? Ran on steam or something with big wooden wheels. Saw a movie once with one in it. I'm not much for gambling myself, well with money at least. Still I'll make a point to stop by, what's the dress code?"

"Swim? Not often, pools aren't really something you see on warships. Well big ones at any rate." She tried to keep from taking too much of the umbrella, and subconsciously slouched a little to make it easier to keep the thing over her.

"A gambling establishment? That's moored? Is it like those weird river boats that were popular back during the early days of the empire? Ran on steam or something with big wooden wheels. Saw a movie once with one in it. I'm not much for gambling myself, well with money at least. Still I'll make a point to stop by, what's the dress code?"

"Ah, there are few pools, and of course the ocean over here. Just don't swim too far in, or the sharks will bite. And these shark sometimes bite boats in half." Yakura slightly pushed the umbrella over towards the Unicorn. She was mostly used to this weather after all.

"Hai, moored. I guess something like that. No steam though, it's more modern than that. It was used to be a luxury cruise, but I repurposed it. I would love to have you as a guest. Don't be drab or too..."she gestured vaguely. "You know, make it snap?" She shrugged, obviously happy with the very exact and not at all vague advice she offered.

"How are you finding Tango Island so far? Besides the rain, of course."

"Ah, there are few pools, and of course the ocean over here. Just don't swim too far in, or the sharks will bite. And these shark sometimes bite boats in half." Yakura slightly pushed the umbrella over towards the Unicorn. She was mostly used to this weather after all.

"Hai, moored. I guess something like that. No steam though, it's more modern than that. It was used to be a luxury cruise, but I repurposed it. I would love to have you as a guest. Her eyes widen a little at the mention of the local fauna, "Giant sharks? Really that big? That's...wild, I mean I have heard of some planet with dinosaurs and mushrooms as big as trees but giant sharks?" She shook her head, "Maybe I should try to get ground side more often."

"Well so far, I haven't seen much of it. Met a nice mechanic and a Suzume shop owner who were both pleasant. A member of your clan that was something of a wild one." And a bit gaudy, but not worth mentioning, "Still friendly though. Hopefully the rain will break and I can get a bit of a better look."

She glances over at the Mantis, "How long have you been here? And why a floating casino?"

"I see, so she's not seaworthy then? Have you considered fixing it fully? I'd imagine a casino pleasure cruise would be alluring to at least some people."

"My friends more into gambling always warned me the house always wins when it comes to casinos." She winks at the Mantis, "So is it your fortune or your clients'? Not that I judge, throwing dice has been around since before the Kami founded the Empire if I understand correctly."

She raised her eyes in a manner indicating that she was absolutely hilarious and demanded worship for that amazing turn of phrase.

She shrugged. "I am merely a facilitator. A facilitiator making a cute koku allowing others to try their own fortunes."

"Ugh, Phoenix." She jsut rolled her eyes. "Eh, maybe. But currently I like that I can spend time both in the city and on my boat in equal amounts. Would be more difficult if the boat is in shark-infested waters." She let out a chuckle. "No, nooooo,the house doesn't win on the Dragon...the boat always wins." She raised her eyes in a manner indicating that she was absolutely hilarious and demanded worship for that amazing turn of phrase.

Suh-Hyun actually laughed at the joke, an indictment on her sense of humor. "I mean you just need a landing pad and a fast air transport to solve the problem of what to do when out on the seas."

"And how many new leave your boat with heavier wallets?" Suh-Hyun asked, frowning when her shoe makes an audible squish. She hoped they weren't ruined. The Unicorn's smile returned quickly, "Which I guess matters less then how many leave happy and wanting to come back."

Yakura shrugged, the umbrella bobbing up and a bit of rain sneaking in. "Eh, I do't keep track. Maybe I should. Those metrics might be useful...but also a pain to gather. Maybe something to saddle on Yuki-chan..." she murmured, then started off into the distance for a while.

"Ah, gomen. Truthfully, the gambling is only part of the income. We have a bar and a restaurant iwth a small menu. While modest, the two can bring in enough as needed, or more. And you are right, a good reputation means more than fleecing clietns once. What would I do if no one ever came for a return visit?" She coughed. "Not that I would ever fleece anyone. No, no, no such dishonorable tactics here."

She turned towards the Shinjo next, eyeing her up and down. "I don't mean to be alarmist, but you're fairly soaked. There are afew shops here that sell some clothes, would you care to buy something that is well...dry?"

Suh-Hyun waved the suggestion off, "I'm fine," She was not in fact fine, but stubborn, "More worried on getting this dried when I get back home."

"Oh what sort of food do you serve at the restaurant? I'm not much of a gambler but I do get hungry." Deflecting from the clothes? Probably. "How big is this yacht anyway? A gambling floor, restaurant, and bar?"

"Where are you residing, may I ask? Oh, mainly local fare, seafood as you can guess. Something like that, we also jave a deck we use for evenrs on occasion."

She smiled fondly at thought. "It is quite homey, at least for me. Ever been on a ship?"

"Why yes, I was on the cruiser Min-Hee as part of its onboard flight for a familiarization cruise after graduating combat flight school. And then posted to the 33rd Interceptor Squadron, which was stationed on the carrier Stellar Winds for a tour of duty." She blinks then sheepishly adds, "If you mean a ship that's on water then no."
