The casually dressed arrived at the temple on her scooter once she was done at the fishmarket, and Igoro took Kaida for a walk. Kanna respected the temples of the great Fortunes enough to not bring a dog inside (without asking first).

"Hello?" she calls out softly as she steps in after the initial purification, feeling more at ease here than at the 'temple' in Tenjin Town.

The temple of Daikoku was wealthy, of course, and it showed in its furnishings. As well as in the monk that came to speak to Kanna.



"Greetings, Tamori-sama." The monk, clearly high-ranked in the temple, but not the abbot, bowed to her. There was an audible jingle of jewelry as he did so. "Welcome to the Temple of Daikoku. How may I assist you this day?"

Oh damn. Maybe she had spent too much time in Dragon space only, because Kanna had never seen a monk look so... FANCY! She was certain he had clothes more expensive than people she knew!

Still, she bowed. "Good morning, I'm Tamori Kanna of the Dragon. Ah, karo Yasuki Umiko-sama has asked me to assist with the preparations for the Bon Festival, and I have come here to speak with the noble monks of Daikoku-Kami to get an idea of what needs doing and how I can best be of assistance to her and this temple."

Oh, and usually booths with games, and snacks, and that kind of stuff."

"Annnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnd!" The monk raised one finger theatrically. "Alcohol! In Crab lands, that tradition goes back all the way to old Rokugan."

"But all those things sound very good, too!" The monk said, smiling. "Although, given the alcohol, one must be careful! No throwing darts or anything like that. He chuckled. "Well, young Tamori-sama. What do you think you would be best at assisting with?"

Maybe this was the chance she had to prove herself to Umiko and Ayame, like she had talked about with Iwane the other day. That this was the opportunity to show that she could work with anyone in Nakahama.

"Ah, well if the Crab priests haven't blessed the sake yet, then surely that is important - and I can do that!" She cupped her chin in thought, clearly working her grey matter hard. "Does the local shops here usually contribute in some way to the festival, in the spirit of community? I have made some connections here already, and could ask them to create special stands for the event... with no throwing darts or the like, of course!"

The monk bowed, wearing enough jewelry that it sounded like someone tossed some coins in a garbage disposal.

"In fact, another esteemed shugenja blessing the alcohol would ensure the work would go much faster. A very good idea, Tamori-sama."

He straightened, sounding like that same garbage disposal going in reverse. "Local shops do contribute already. However, a properly pious individual such as yourself might be able to convince them to contribute a little more." The monk bobbed his head. "Another fine idea."

"Well, you know how it is." The monk said. "It seems like there's never enough! That's almost the unofficial motto of the temple of Daikoku, you know, and it informs a lot of what we do." He cleared his throat. "Speaking of which, a donation would certainly be appreciated!"

Clearing his throat again, he went on. "We always welcome unskilled labor. But skilled labor would be especially appreciated. Besides your blessing the alcohol, of course." The monk frowned as he considered. "Someone who could dance, or add to the fireworks display. Things of that nature."

But! BUT! She knew a perfect candidate for dancing! Oh my kami! What if I could ask Kakita Hiroki to perform for everyone! Kanna didn't know if the idol would say yes if she asked, but you miss 100% of the shots you don't take! Wise words!

"I think I know who to ask for something like that, yeah." She had plans! But first, she had to make this guy stop being a pushy salesman. So Kanna did pick up her densai from her bag to transfer a donation to the temple (10! 10 koku donation! Ah ah ah!).

Aaaaaand..." he pushed a button on his (very fancy) densai, "-here is your receipt, along with a unique temple emoji only available to Jade Level donors such as yourself!"

Now that was a scam, Kanna knew, because monks were supposed to make the sake themselves! Or so she had heard. Still, Kanna had given her word to help out, and with the Fortunes as her witness, she would.

"Alright. Please, show the way, so that the blessings may be given," she bowed.
