"Clearly!" Kanna agreed with a happy giggle accompanying her words.

"I do hope I can be stationed here in the future if everything works out. Not that the decision is mine to make, but since I've already become familiar with the people and places, I think it would be a good chance," she said, nodding sagely as if it made perfect sense. It probably did make some sense though, but at the end of the day she was an important person who couldn't just settle wherever she pleased.

"But between you and me," she leaned in a little, holding up a hand to cup her mouth even if she didn't lower her voice, "I think this place will be great for Kitsuki-san to settle and work. It seems to make her very happy to be here, and I totally gonna recommend her for her work here."

Taraka smiled.

"That's very kind of you Tamori-san. I think it's a great place for a great many people. And even if you can't relocate yourself here, you could consider picking up a vacation home here. Bayushi Kazushi is looking to get a retreat here for his family. His wife can take people on junkets while he raises their child." she informed the Dragon. "So really there's lots of ways you might find yourself spending more time here."

"A vacation home, huh?"

Would she even be able to visit it often, she wondered.

"I don't know if I'll be able to visit a vacation-home often, but does Yasuki-san have any other ideas?"

Taraka tilted her head at the question.

"Ideas are never in short supply, Tamori-san. It's just a matter of which get the attention they need to become reality." she said. "If you just want to see more things and meet more people, you could plan walking tours of Golden Shotengai and the Harbourfront. Invite the people you've met, and ask them to bring someone you haven't met. Who knows what you'll discover?"

"That sounds like a great idea!" She even imagined hosting a small party now at Crabkaku, because it was obviously the best place!

"Thank you, Yasuki-san. That was really clever! Truly, the Yasuki are full of cleverness!"

Taraka offered a small bow at the compliment.

"Well, we do want to be hospitable after all. This is our chance to show off our hometown to outsiders and show them what makes it so wonderful. I'm sure if I was visiting your home, Tamori-san, you would be happy to tell me all about what sights I should see." she offered.

"Ah," Kanna's smiled remained, but it turned a tad bashful, and she awkwardly adjusted her hair. "Anywhere in Dragon space, I would! But my homeworld of Dragon's Eye is closed to outsiders."

"Yasuki-san is born and raised here on Green Carp then?"

Taraka thought back to her Empire Exogeography lessons.

"Ohhh, right....'...and the Dragon with it's eyes closed is thinking about the Eastern nebula....'" she recalled.

She smiled.

"Well, it's a good thing you came here then, Tamori-san, else we'd have never gotten to meet. But to answer your question, yes. While my family can trace it's line back to the home world itself, we've been on Green Carp for many generations." she said.

"It's true! I wouldn't have been able to meet you, or all the other amazing people I have met here." She did consider rattling off a list of people she was especially happy to have met, but realized it would be almost everyone and the list would be long.

"Sounds like Yasuki-san has an illustrious lineage indeed! My family also trace our line to the home world and the ancient Tamori of old. I know there's some connection there to the current kuge of the family, but I don't quite remember the details." Something-something-cousin-nephew-aunt-something. Kanna was very glad she wasn't responsible for maintaining the family-records and keeping track of it all. "Does that make Flying Battle Carps a family business, or is it a new thing owned by you?"

My mother was the second daughter of a concern that bred fighting fish. They met at a miai, and she came up with the idea of acquiring the rights for civilian grade drones, and thus was born Flying Battle Carps." she explained.

Kanna was a bit amazed, having heard rumors that miai-matches could be misses as often as hits. And it sounded like theirs had been a good match indeed! "I also didn't know there were fighting fish... well, apart from the fighty ones like sharks."

"I guess my family's company isn't as unique as yours. Medical research has been a specialty of our branch for some generations, and my parents decided to expand that into something else to make some of that knowledge put to use on the market. But we are very proud of it!"

Kanna was a bit amazed, having heard rumors that miai-matches could be misses as often as hits. And it sounded like theirs had been a good match indeed! "I also didn't know there were fighting fish... well, apart from the fighty ones like sharks."

"Oh, these ones are way smaller than sharks, Tamori-san. And it's only the males that fight. They're very territorial, but the females are fine living together." she explained.

"But you're right to be proud of your company, Tamori-san. It can be really hard to branch out into new things, and so easy to simply keep doing things the same way. Tradition has value, of course, but without innovation that wouldn't be a historical simulation on Golden Mirror, it'd be the way things were."

"Thank you, Yasuki-san. Those are kind words!" she bobbed her head in gratitude. Then suddenly she remembered something.

"Oh, by the way, the Bon Festival is soon! Yasuki Umiko-sama asked me to help her out with preparing for it. Do you think you would be able to help too? The monks of Daikoku would greatly appreciate any support for the arrangement!"

"Hmmm, we'll I've already been hit up a couple times to help with bon festival, Tamori-san. What is it you are still looking for?" she asked.

"Anything that belongs to a festival!" she said first with excitement, then calmed herself slightly before following the statement. "Like most festivals, stalls are great. Maybe some small things from Flying Battle Carps that people can win if they play games?"

Taraka considered that.

"Hmmm, I'll think on it, Tamori-san." she temporized.

She checked her watch.

"Ah, speaking of which, I should probably be heading over to the shop. It has truly been a pleasure to meet you Tamori-san. I hope you enjoy the rest of your stay here." she offered with a bow.

"It was wonderful to meet you, Yasuki-san!" Kanna bowed in return to the Crab woman. "I will try to make a visit to Flying Battle Carps to look more closely at them in the coming days. I did catch the display at the Azure Dragon some days ago, but I want another look!"

She smiled vibrantly. "Have a blessed day, Yasuki-san!"
