Kisha shrugs.

"It could be so," she says. "I'll probably have some choice in the matter, but it'll be to pick from a few selections rather than simply to write my own ticket."

She smiles. "I hope to get good enough someday to be able to do that."

Kazushi hangs in there, but his amateur pilot status doesn't look like it'll be changing any time soon, and his banner goes fluttering away once again.

"A predictable result," he laments, "but at least I held on for a while..."

Kisha, after landing her drone, bows to her opponent.

"It was a good match, Bayushi-san," she says as she rises. "That maneuver you made late, it was impressive! I'm going to have to learn how to counter it better before we do this again!"

She considers. "Maybe your little one will take to this, too?"

More seriously, I'd forgotten when dayflip was to happen, so I apologize for the rushed thing.

[Bayushi Kazushi]

"Once he's old enough to take up the controls, perhaps," Kazushi says. "About what you said earlier, though - the Scorpion seem poised to make prime arrangements with the governor in the very near future. We're inclined to be generous with the benefits of those arrangements - which are far greater than we can realistically take advantage of - with those who support our deal..."

[Miya Kisha]

Kisha knows this dance. She knows her part to play in it, as well, and so she says "Oh? I've heard stories about Scorpions' generosity. Very good to their friends, I'm told. But so few people seem to want to be Scorpions' friends in popular stories. That's a surprise to me, with the people I've met here, though."

[Bayushi Kazushi]

Kazushi shakes his head, a bit over-dramatically.

"We're such loyal friends, too," he says, almost mournfully, "as only the treacherous and the dangerous have anything to fear from us. Millennia of slander aside, though, the question becomes, 'What might the Imperial Families want in return for their support?'"

[Miya Kisha]

"Well, I can't speak for the whole, of course," Kisha says. "But even if I could, I'd have to ask what kind of support, and for what? Because I'm happy to help my friends with a lot of things, but sometimes it's a friend's part to say it's a bad idea, you know?"

[Bayushi Kazushi]

"Well, at last I checked, if we prevail we can spare..."

Kazushi pulls his densai and checks a few figures.

"...perhaps one of the medium holdings the governor is offering? That could certainly be useful for one hoping to either begin a media empire, or expand one already in the works... In return, we'd ask a token show of support for our bid, of course."

(OOC: I actually have no idea how much of the "Bid Point" concept is IC and how much is OOC, so I'm having a hard time trying to formulate a proposal...)

[Miya Kisha]

Kisha considers.

"That's very generous an offer of friendship," she says. "Certainly one worth considering, depending on how large a token is needed to play that game."

[Bayushi Kazushi]

"Let's see...I think we can offer such a holding at about..."

He types in a couple of figures on his densai, considering the result.

"...about half of what the governor would want for a single establishment, perhaps?"

"That's a generous offer," Kisha says. "I really do hope you can find someone whose hands are large enough to hold it. But I am, as you see, quite small."

That draws a chuckle.

"Well, there are still some days left," he suggests. "Perhaps as the event draws to a close, we can re-evaluate what resources you might have to offer?"

[Miya Kisha]

"It's possible," Kisha says. "And, at the least, I'll hope we can be friendly. You've been good company, and I'd hate to see that end."

[Bayushi Kazushi]

"If we can't come to an arrangement, it shouldn't affect that," Kazushi replies. "These things happen, as timing is always a tricky thing. It's best not to allow that sort of thing to interfere with personal connections, or you only end up isolating yourself."

[Miya Kisha]

Kisha nods.

"That's good," she says. "Much better to keep things friendly, even if some things won't work out."
