[Day 10 - Late Morning] RP Thread: Wargames

Being an event only held with the help of the local garrison, there isn't much fanfare compared to previous events, but the guests and locals participating in the event will find themselves surrounded by many Crab who are stationed on the island, either serving the defence force full-time or merely here to fulfill their very comfortable mandatory service.

At the very least, there are bleacher seats to observe the wargames!

Games involving actual conflict were certainly not Kazushi's thing...but showing off is!

Every so often he makes an observation, which Katsumi duly records on her laptop, but for the most part he sits and watches quietly, interested in seeing who's up for the challenge and what they have to offer.

OOC: Please quote or PM if approaching, thanks!

Wearing her own costume to show off, Kanna almost had a skip in her step as she approached Kazushi.

"Wow, you dress to impress as always, Bayushi-sama!" She marvelled at his choice of outfit. "But... you're not playing?"

"Directing a marketing department and directing a battle are two very different things," notes Kazushi. "I wouldn't even know where to begin with my approach. In any case, there are other matters that require my focus today, so I'm content to simply cheer on my comrades."

"Oooh..." she looked him over, then thought about it for a moment. "I always thought that the battlefield had more similarities to courts and businesses, but I'm not a director... just a gamer, really. Do you play any wargames, or just Fantasy Fight?"

"Just Fantasy Fight - it's about all I have time for," replies Kazushi. "Meetings, design drafts, compiling and analyzing marketing profiles, then new baby at home - free time's hard to come by."

Taraka looked over her results for the war game.

"Freakin' energy drink powered super zombies." she muttered disdainfully to herself.

Her turn taken and her holorecorder hovering as normal, Kisha joins the observations.

Her face lit up as she listened to him speak. "I didn't know you did designs too, Bayushi-sama. That's amazing! Especially since you are balancing it all with family life too - truly, your child must be very lucky! How old are they?"

Kanna's brain hadn't decided yet if she was more excited about fashion designs or the baby, and the wires crossed a bit before she settled on the child.

"I got into design work as a result of a marketing side project," Kazushi replies. "It's easier to push a product you had a hand in making, or at least there's more motivation to do so. As for the little one, Kijuro's only four months old, so he keeps us busy. Thankfully my wife's attendants are able to help her keep up."

Kiyoshi set the Detective down on the bleachers with a juice box and a bag of cherries.

"I'll be back as soon as I finish with.... whatever this is. Sit here and enjoy watching all the weird samurai stuff we do. I removed all the seeds. No spitting."

The Fox appeared to be writing a message as he walked over to begin his wargame.

Suh-Hyun was there of course, wearing her uniform since technically this was military exercise. She couldn't help but think how easy this would have been with close air support. Or tanks. Close Air Support Tanks.

Ami was still clapping her hands excitedly at how much fun she had during the exercise. Quite proud of her little army, she checked the scores.

Her lips purse, disappointed that she wasn't in the top three. But still, to succeed was something!

Watching the battles it was interesting to watch how different choices led to different outcomes. She wasn't certain there were any choices she could have made to stop the super zombie strike. Now on the other hand, apparently all the zombies were sitting together in an incredibly tight group, napping, when the other Spider's artillery struck them. What should've been light shot damage nailed them almost as heavily as her main strike has struck the demon.

And she'd almost met everyone. Clearly, Bayushi Hinata was a lie.

So she approached the Spider.

"Susumu-san. Impressive work with the artillery." she admitted.

Ami turned to face the Crab. Her clapping turned to interlaced fingers as her hands clasped, giving a respectful, if muted, bow.

"Yasuki-san. High praise indeed coming from the clan of siege warfare. I was quite pleased with the results. It's like what Daigotsu Iirusuku said. Heavens favor the side with the biggest guns." Her eyes twinkled as she moved a hand to raise her sunglasses to act as a makeshift hairband.

Her make-up was immaculate. Dark kphl eyeliner painted to wingtips. The blending and contouring accentuating her striking features.

"I must give credit to your artillery as well. An excellent demonstration by your self." She noted the scoreboard, and the replays. "Quite the little game. I must bring an example home."

"Awww I bet he is very adorable! I am certain he will have a bright future ahead of him, even without divining it!" Kanna gushed a little over the baby that she hadn't even seen.

"Do you make designs on commissions, or is it only for Orchid Department?"

"So far, only for the Department," Kazushi answers, "but I suppose if I got a request from the right person... I just do the designs, though - others do the actual weaving, knitting, forging, and other such assembly work."

Taraka frowned a bit. From First Market to War Games, if the Spider purpose in Nakahama was to gather intelligence for the incipient war, they were gathering it by the truckoad. Well, except information about makeup, because the Spider's look was flawless. But as Hiruma Yamara had once famously said, 'Do not be deceived by the allure of evil. It hides behind the lipgloss of lies and the rouge of remorselessness.'

She shrugged as well.

"I can't say I'm familiar with their words." she admitted.

Nor would she be.

"But honestly, I think my heavy defenders were the real stars of my team. Make no mistake, the artillery was a key point of my defenses. But, had their been yet another wave, my artillery was exhausted. My sapper squad was yet ready to collapse the ground beneath an even mightier foe, and then it would have been my defenders standing alone. And unlike a simulation...there's always another wave." she forecasted.

"Of course," she nodded, understanding. A samurai of his standing wouldn't be doing the menial work! "I would love to ask for a design some day, but I don't want to intrude on your time, Bayushi-sama."

"I suppose that is something that we all have to keep focused on." She nodded, listening to the Yasuki describe her defenses.

"That's why trade and logistics are so important in a protracted conflict. Though I know I don't have to tell you that." She grinned with wickedness, her eyes brightening.

"We're not so different, really. Just on opposite sides. A Mirror to you. Maybe that's why we keep each other at arms length... most of the time, Yasuki-san."
