Nakahama

The day's planned events done, Kisha packs something of a picnic dinner and her drone and heads to the beach. The one, she'll certainly address; the other might well be of use...

Katsumi's there to greet Kisha, while Kurumi gets the Ethereal Sunset ready for another flight.

"Miya-sama, good evening," says Kazushi's secretary. "Bayushi-sama will be along shortly, as soon as he gets back."

Katsumi looks out toward the sea, and...ah, there he is...

"Bayushi-san is a man of many talents, it seems," Kisha says. "I'd imagine it's a challenge sometimes to keep up with him."

"He's gotten more adventurous since we arrived on Green Carp," Katsumi confides. "I think he feels a little more free here than he does back home."

"I can understand that," Kisha replies. "It's a pretty place and welcoming; seems the kind of place to prompt as much."

She looks to the secretary.

"How did you come to work for him, if I may ask?"

"Oh, our family has served his for generations," Katsumi replies. "We've been attendants, couriers, and secretaries for them, helping in their role as ambassadors to the Imperial Court. Bayushi-sama..."

She nods out to the surfing Scorpion.

"...is the first to branch out into business, and we followed him there accordingly."

Kisha nods at the information. "Nothing wrong with following in the family traditions," she says. "It's why I have a horse, even here, after all.

"Which reminds me: I should make time to ride again soon."

"The plains around Tenjin Town might be good for that, although...," Katsumi pauses, a concerned look crossing her face. "The locals there - at least, the ones we've encountered - are a bit strange, and don't take to outsiders. If I may be so bold, I'd suggest not going alone."

At about this time, Kazushi wades back toward the shore, waving.

"Miya-san, I'm guessing you saw the post on the Fighting Carp group?"

"There's a group?" Kisha replies. "No, I just know that this is a good spot for dueling, and I was hoping to get another match in. It's been such fun doing it, and I've met some great people!"

She smiles and bows.

"I trust the day's found you well, Bayushi-san."

"Katsumi, could you send her an invite to the group chat?" requests Kazushi. His secretary makes a couple of quick clicks and swipes on her employer's densai, and an invite soon appears on Kisha's own. "I've arranged a couple of duels through that, and it will be a good way for us Fighting Carp enthusiasts to stay in touch when we all depart for whatever awaits for us next."

Kurumi leaves the Sunset to drape a towel around Kazushi's shoulders.

"It's been...relaxing, really. Several of the governor's events haven't been to my taste recently, so I've been taking the opportunity to do some sightseeing and just generally unwind. I trust you've been well, too?"

"Very much so," Kisha replies. "I've been trying to do the events, myself, although there are some I found out I'm not up for. And there were some I thought I was but was clearly wrong."

She smiles sheepishly. "I think I need to put in some time at the shooting range, honestly. I'm rusty."

"I might need to join you for that," Kazushi agrees. "I've been fortunate in having Kurumi around to handle defense so far, but I've had a couple of experiences here that have me thinking that I should be participating in my own protection, at least a little but."

Kisha nods.

"I'd be grateful for the company," she says. "I mean, I was able to bag a pheasant today, which I'm happy with; they taste good. But my parents would be aghast at my having done no more than that. 'A lady should be able to do such things,' they'd say. And they'd be right."

Kazushi chuckles.

"There's not a lot of hunting on Rokugan outside of the preserves," he says, "so that really wasn't my thing."

"You're not wrong," Kisha will reply. "But there's beauty in them, tightly governed as they are."

She looks around. "I wonder how far this thing will spread, the carp-fighting."

"Assuming the Scorpion are able to arrange a positive relationship with the governor," Kazushi says, "I intend to do my part to help Yasuki-san's business expand as far as she wants it to. With my guys at Zakuro-ishi moving in here, she'd have plenty of help available."

"From what I hear," Kisha says, "that's more or less a done deal. Not surprising, really, given how much focus the Scorpion have put here, especially compared to other Clans."

She shrugs.

"Have you figured out where you'd like your vacation home to be?"

"Senshuken-san and Hinata-san have carried us, for the most part," Kazushi admits. "I'm just here as an administrator, and there's been little enough to do as far as that goes. Locations, though...I'm thinking the lower city, somewhere near the harbor. Little Kijuro will enjoy having a beach to play on, even if the locals aren't fond of Azuma, and would put us close to a couple of friendly spots in the Azure Dragon and Crabkaku."

"They're both quite impressive," Kisha replies. "The events our hosts have put on seem almost to have been scripted for them, letting them show off at their best.

"I count myself fortunate to have met them here, really. I'll hope to keep in touch with them at the least. And with you, for that matter."

"I should be easy to keep track of," Kazushi replies, "as I'll be where the Department needs me. You're the one that's going to be harder to keep in touch with, I'd guess, hopping from one big event to the next."
