Nakahama

Bayushi Kazushi got a late start to the day. The governor's little athletic tournament that was scheduled for later in the day hadn't interested him, so it looked like he was going to have the day off. As such, he decided to start it on the beach, taking in the morning sun and relaxing in a beach chair. He's flanked, as always, by Kurumi and Katsumi, the latter of whom seems to have fallen asleep again.

He'd posted on the drone battles page noting his availability, so all there was to do was to hang around and see if anyone showed...

It seems he wouldn't have to wait long this morning, as Sumiko had made her way to the beach after seeing the challenge posted! It was going to be a tiring day but at least drone battling was fun.

She spotted the challenger and approached with a smile and a bow.

"Good morning Bayushi-sama! I hope you are well?"

"I am, indeed!" Kazushi says as he stretches and rises from the chair. "It's so relaxing here, I think I was in danger of joining Katsumi-chan in drifting off again. All has been well with you, I trust?"

"The beach does make for a nice relaxing spot now that we're not drowning in extreme rain and floods" Sumiko commented with a chuckle as she put her bag down "I am quite well. I've found myself quite fond of this island. I won't be able to visit it again I'm sure but at least I have plenty of good memories before I go."

She undid her bag.

"Speaking of memories, I hear Bayushi-sama was looking for some entertainment in the form of drone warfare."

"Ah, yes, the Sunset could do with a workout," Kazushi replies. He retrieves the remote and inputs a couple of commands, and soon the dark orange drone hovers out next to him, ready to go.

Sumiko took her black and green drone out, placing it down and taking out her controls. A quick fire up and the drone was into the air.

"Well it took off so that's good" Sumiko said to herself with a chuckle "ready, Bayushi-sama?"

"Here we go! Best of luck, Susumu-san," Kazushi says as the Ethereal Sunset takes to the skies.

The Scorpion hasn't improved in his piloting skill, not really, but the conditions are good and allow his natural talent to take over, using the drone's enhanced maneuverability to pull off some fast, swooping strikes...

"Your drone looks very cool Bayushi-sama" Sumiko offered with a smile "let's have fun!"

Sumiko started off the drone battle slow, she almost seemed to watching as much as attacking which allowed Kazushi to get an advantage. Narrowly missing the attacks early on from Kazushi which would have been game ending. However her skills improved more as the battle went on and it would almost seem like Sumiko was lulling the Scorpion into a false sense of security as she began to turn the tide on the battle and press an advantage that wasn't there at the start.

"Very good!" Kazushi exclaims as Sumiko's final strike claims his banner. "You've made some modifications, I see..."

When the Scorpions flag floated down to the ground Sumiko looked surprised.

"Oh it worked? It worked! I thought it would, but to see it actually happen..."

She paused then bowed deeply.

"My apology Bayushi-sama, hai I've been working on it a lot. I've got a rather inquisitive mind and enjoy taking things apart to really study them. I've been working out how to make the drone lighter and slimmer so it's both faster and manoeuvres better. I have Bayushi Senshuken-sama to thank also, she's a natural with piloting and has given me a lot of advice."
