Kazushi is on the black sand beach for a second morning in a row, but this time he's here with a specific purpose. His Ethereal Sunset drone lifts off, taking a couple of test swoops through the sky as its pilot awaits his first challenge...

Senshu arrives on her bike. She parks nearby and walks closer to offer a bow along with a wave. ''Good morning, Bayushi sama. How are you doing? What a day so far. So much rain.'' She comments.

"I'm told it shouldn't be a problem for what we're planning, though," Kazushi replies, raising his voice slightly to be heard over the sound of the rain. "Besides, it looks like it might start clearing a bit in a moment."

''Yes, that's what the forecast has predicted.'' She replies. ''Have you had any duels before this one?"

"Nope," he says simply. "You get to be my first."

"It stays in the family, at least." She jokes with a wink and opens her backpack to get her drone out. "I'm working on a small modification, but I'll keep things simple for now. Mostly because I don't want to confuse either of us. You know the rules, yes?"

"Sever the flag, try not to collide or otherwise crash," says Kazushi with a nod as he brings Ethereal Sunset around into position.

Senshuken places her banner and the drone takes off. kazushi isn't an easy opponent. The beginning is rough and the two pilots prove to be of equal skill, but soon Senshu seems to take over. She manages to pull Kazushi's drone towards a tall tree and then outmaneveur him. Now the tree is behind his drone and the enemy right in front of him. Senshuken presses forward!

Kasumi takes her new umbrella and runs off after Kazushi's severed banner, while Ethereal Sunset comes in to land.

"As I'd expected, that was an admirable display of piloting, Senshuken-san," he says with a bow. "I humbly admit defeat."

The girl bows. "You are skilled yourself, Bayushi sama. It was a fun experience and you gave me a hard time, especially in the beginning." She lands her own drone and approaches to pack it properly. "Do you have piloting experience?

"I'm a complete novice," Kazushi admits. "I just barely qualified for a ground vehicle license, and I decided that that would be enough for me as far as controlling heavy machinery."

"Heavy machinery?" She chuckles. "I don't believe that you drive either a truck or a bulldoser and a car doesn't qualify for heavy machinery, I'm afraid." She looks at him for a moment. "Don't you like it? Driving? You almost make it sound like a burden."

"It's one I often leave to Katsumi," he says, gesturing to his secretary, who's huddling beneath an umbrella next to her sister. "It's not really that it's a burden, though, but more that I'm not particularly safe behind the wheel. I can get a bit...aggressive. Katsumi is much more even-tempered."

She raises an eyebrow playfully. "Aggressive, huh? With the vehicle or the other drivers?"

"Yes," is Kazushi's simple answer.

The Bayushi bursts into laughter. "A feisty one then. I am almost inclined to challenge you into a race just to see your reactions, Bayushi sama."

"I probably wouldn't walk away from it," he admits. "It's tempting, though... Maybe I should see about getting my hands on a bike so we can try it."

Kurumi and Katsumi, who have been listening from a polite distance, share a glance at each other, wearing almost identical looks of horror.

"I'll be here if you decide it." She winks.

"Till then... Any news on the political front?"

The word "political" seems to draw a slight scowl from Kazushi, but it soon passes.

"Nothing yet. From the feel that I'm getting, we're still solid on our dealings with the governor, but there's a lot of time left. I'm...not looking forward to this screenwriting competition this afternoon, but there's no sense worrying about it. We also probably need to make a showing at this 'Fan Con' thing tomorrow - the governor seems keen on it, after all. I've got an outfit that will probably make a splash."

"If Fan Con is even remotely what it sounds like, it's right on my element. We just have to wait and see."
