(Day 2, Mid-Afternoon) A Massage and a Bath (Open-ish?)

by Bayushi Kazushi
After a walk on the beach, a hike up to an abandoned hotel, and a expedition into a sample Yasuki market, Kazushi needs to unwind. He quickly finds his way into the spa section of Natsuzora and, after a quick washing off, settles in for a full-body massage to ease his muscles. As the masseuse works her magic, the Orchid Department executive taps away at his densha, sending out messages to a select few - invitations to join him.

Another guest was in the spa area, and probably not one that Kazushi would have invited. The small Dragon woman was dressed in the ryokan's own yukata-set for modesty and comfort as she was led by one of the staff.
"It's very nice in here," Kanna remarked softly, seemingly able to control her volume for indoor-use. At least here.
As she spotted Kazushi in passing, she smiled and bowed, followed by an energic wave of her hand. "Oh, good afternoon!" Volume yes. Enthusiasm no.
The staff-member showed Kanna to a nearby area that was divided by folding screens, allowing for socialization and privacy if that was wanted. It would depend on what the Scorpion seemed to want...

Ah, the squeaky Dragon.
"Good afternoon!" Kazushi calls from his table with feigned enthusiasm. "This is just perfect after an active day..."

It didn't seem like she would pick up on any feigned emotions, and just took it at face value as another enthusiastic person. "I saw you last night at the Pink Lotus. Your outfit then was very awesome," she offered with complete sincerity. "And... wow, yes, a massage will be nice. I've been looking forward to it today."
At another wave from the staff-member, she disappeared behind the screen, but it didn't stop her from chatting.
"Oh, I'm Tamori Kanna of the Dragon, by the way. Here on invitation. You too, right?"

"The same," he confirms. "Bayushi Kazushi of the Orchid Department, manager of the fashion design and marketing division."

Kotori had just arrived back to her room in the Natsuzora Ryokan and Spa when the message arrived. Even after she had spent a brief time mulling over the text message, and whether or not she should or could politely decline the invitation of her senior, it had only been a matter of minutes before she decided to head down and make her way down to the Spa. It had only been five or so minutes later that she replied - a polite thankyou for the consideration, acceptance of the offer, and notice that she would be there shortly. Shortly being all of two minutes later.
Perhaps the factor that swayed her - beyond the underlying concern over declining someone of much higher status than herself - was Ochiba's suggestion for a spa day amongst the 'live-a-little' list. What harm could it do. But before finding Kazushi for clan bonding and unwinding, she started by bathing to wash away the hours of exposure to humidity, and children's desperation.

"Hi, Soshi-san," Kazushi says as he spots the quiet woman enter the spa section. "Soshi Kotori-san, this is Tamori Kanna-san," he says, gesturing off in the directions he thinks they're in - it's hard to tell with a privacy screen set up.

"Thank you, Bayushi-sama." Her words drag out into a soft sigh as the masseur got to work.
Then as introductions were made, Kanna speaks up again after a moment of silence. "Hello Soshi-saaan," Kanna's voice comes softly, but full of friendliness in the words.
It seemed like the masseur had found an Off-button on the Dragon, since she was being very quiet and relaxed.

"Ah- Bayushi-sama." She bows politely in greeting before looking about and speaking sceptically into the screened off void. "A pleasure to... meet you? Tamori-san..."
Kotori straightens.

"You've been making quite the impression, Tamori-san," Kazushi notes. "Usagi no Yomogi is being well represented at the governor's little gathering..."

"Mmph?" Kanna managed to pull out of her reverie slightly. "Pleasure to meet you too, Soshi-san. You have a pretty voice." Since she couldn't see Kotori, she could only compliment when she could hear.
"Thank you, Bayushi-sama. I didn't know what to expect here, to be honest, but the Crab are wonderful hosts and everyone is so friendly. The Scorpion seem to be well-represented here too; you must be doing super-well already!"
Enthusiasm engaged again.

"We're not in the habit of letting an opportunity pass us by," replies Kazushi. "Any or all of the businesses we represent would do well establishing a foothold on Green Carp."

Kotori nods in silent agreement, not particularly considering that Kanna wouldn't be able to see it. "I imagine it would do the locals equal good - as varied as our interests are." Something about helping the economy.
Kotori looked about for a moment before heading to wash down first, because a massage sounded nice right now.

"What are the business you represent, if I may ask? I wish to know more about all the different ideas that might take hold here." Her curiosity sounded genuine and friendly. "Who knows, maybe our businesses will be neighbors!"

"I'm employed by the Orchid Department, but I also own Zakuro-ishi Business Solutions, a consulting firm based in Toshi Aitate, which I'd like to see expand a bit," says Kazushi.

"I can't say I am familiar with either, sorry." Kanna did wish she knew about them though. "What's Orchid Department? It sounds very luxurious!"

"That's precisely what it is," answers Kazushi. "We're makers of all sorts of luxury goods, from furniture and home decor, high-end electronics, and my specialty, fashion."

"Ooo what kind of fashion!" That was the much more interesting part to her. "All the Scorpion I've seen here have been so stylishly dressed, is it all from Orchid?"

"Hinata-san's is, as is mine - we both have been wearing outfits from the Yuga-sa line," Kazushi answers. "One of the first lines I worked on after joining the company."

"Bayushi-sama's designs are very popular." Kotori's voice drifts through the partitions as she returns from the bathing area. "I have acquired a few pieces myself."
She was quite fond the the traditionalist nature of the Yuga-sa line.
