D6LM, So I Try Hard; So What? (Expecting but Open)

[Miya Kisha]

"Well, it seemed to work out well," Kisha says. "I'm honestly a little jealous of your performance!

"But I suppose it would be better for me to look at how I can improve...just like with the drones, here."

She bows again.

"I mean it," she says, rising, "when I say I appreciate you taking the time with me."

[Bayushi Senshuken]

The Scorpion pauses for moment. This isn't a usual situation. It isn't that she has done anything really.

She bows back. "With equal honesty I must say that I did nothing special. I mean it. Neither in the Jade Chef contest, nor here today."

[Miya Kisha]

Kisha smiles.

"Your family is lucky to have you," she will add. "Speaking of: how is the family?"

[Bayushi Senshuken]

She looks at her for a moment. "Well, my parents are getting older, but they still e joy good health. I have three older siblings, all married with children of their own." A pause. "Do you know any of them?"

[Miya Kisha]

"It is possible," Kisha says. "I do travel a lot, visiting many worlds. But asking after families is generally a friendly thing, and I do hope we can be friends."

[Bayushi Senshuken]

"Forgive me." She replies and takes her mask off as a way of proving her honesy. A bright smile is revealed. "My courtier instincts didn't kick in this case. We, Scorpion, are sometimes discriminated when it comes to friendship. Or feared." She shrugs. "Who can really tell. The result remains the same in either case. People avoid us."

[Miya Kisha]

Kisha's mouth drops open for a moment at the revelation, not just because of the importance of the gesture--she knows well what it means for a Scorpion to unmask before others--but because of the face and smile revealed.

"Who could avoid you?" she says, but then she manages to shut her mouth and bows, flushing.

"My apologies," she mutters.

[Bayushi Senshuken]

Senshu bows as well, but only as a tease since when their heads reach the same height, she looks at her and winks. "Mine as well."

She raises from her bow and stays silent for a few moments.

"Would you like us to go for a soda?" She looks around her. "Or a beer, perhaps? I would like to repay your kindness somehow."

[Miya Kisha]

"I...I'd like that," Kisha says, the wink taking her off of her game...such as her game is.

"But I don't know why you're apologizing. Or what you think you have to repay, either."

The Miya remains a little flushed.

"Like I said, I hope we can be friends."

[Bayushi Senshuken]

She takes the backpack with her drone, her helmet in hands, and waves to the Imperial to follow.

"It was more of an excuse. We cannot become friends if we don't hang out together. Aaaand I do have to ask the same question." She looks at her. "Why did you apologize? I did it as a tease."

[Miya Kisha]

"It's a fair question," Kisha replies as she packs up her own drone. "And the answer's this: I know my mouth sometimes gets ahead of me. There've been a few people who've said that it vents the wind tunnel between my ears. I don't know that they're wrong, really."

There's still a little blush on the Miya's cheeks. "I'm not used to being teased. I mean, I'm not complaining or anything. It's just not something that's happened to me a lot."

[Bayushi Senshuken]

"Are you playful, Miya san? Teasing?" She asks. "Some people get discouraged if you are too serious."

[Miya Kisha]

"I'm game for a lot of things," Kisha replies. "I know there's a lot out in the Empire to experience and celebrate, and I do what I can to do both. And I can take a joke...when I know there's one being made. I just don't always realize there's one being made."

She smiles a bit. "You might see the part in my hair get wider from time to time."

[Bayushi Senshuken]

"Is it due to mind explosions?" She jokes. "Well if being teased is something you like, then we will be bffs before the first can of soda." She turns to look at her seriously. "And I never go for cheap jokes, mind you. No six seven coming out of the blue. I promise that. L"

[Miya Kisha]

"I suppose it depends on who's doing the teasing," Kisha replies. "But I'm glad that I at least rate high-value jokes."

She does grin a little at that, the flush receding from her cheeks as the pair walk to a nearby stand.

Kisha asks the vendor for something citrusy. "So, aside from your excellence here," she asks, "what all do you get up to in a day?"

[Bayushi Senshuken]

She gestures to a servant to approach to place their order and asks for a soda with lime and ice.

"Well, I am a trained courtier, but my pasdion is racing. Bikes." She nods towards her helmet. "I went pro almost two years ago and I have had good results so far. I could say that in my homeworld I am something like a rising star. With the glory and the rumors that entails."

[Miya Kisha]

"What win are you most proud of?" Kisha asks as drinks are poured and served. "I know there will be a lot to choose from, but I know everybody's got a favorite when they do that kind of thing."

She takes a sip of what she receives. "Hm. Kabosu. Interesting."

The shisha takes another sip.

[Bayushi Senshuken]

"The first of course!" She replies readily. "I was eleven at the time, still an amateur of course, still in the electric bikes category. I wasn't the most careful driver, I still cannot claim that I am. I was simply the fastest!" She grins broadly.

[Miya Kisha]

"Eleven? That seems young for the racing circuits," Kisha says.

"How much of the speed is the bike, and how much the rider?" she asks. "I've been on bikes, but I've never raced one."

[Bayushi Senshuken]

"It was an amateur league. If you don't start young, you better never start." She replies. "The bike is very important, but it's the biker that makes the real difference. It's about knowing how to handle each turn. When and where to slow down, how to lower your body and in what degree, how much to speed up. And it's about the mechanics, as well. The racer themselves must know a few stuff and have a team they can pun their trust on."
