There’s no thinking about an answer, no pauses, just an affirmative response. “Yes. You are.” Nagisa nods, arms crossed over her chest.

Nagisa sets aside her running shoes as she settles into the private room with a slight smile. “Oh, well, weather permitting… I head up to the roof of my apartment building. No one goes up there anymore, so I get some nice time to myself.”

Ichitaiyo’s driver glances out over towards the spa building. The driver in question being Nagisa, of course. “Yeah. I’ve been here with Honoka-sama once. She’s pretty generous to have invited me.”

The Kaiu is dressed very casually, just a pair of black capris and a simple Tetsuo Auto Repair shirt ...

I hope it is not too late, but I am so glad I decided to make Ichitaiyo wander into that open scene. I never expected such chemistry could just spark, and how things can just radically change for the characters by being wrong drunk at the right time. In ways, Nagisa was who saw Ichitaiyo at her ...

It was great having a sensible character grounded in the island for folks to bounce off (much like a sports car bounces off a curb). And I'm thrilled she found a special someone, probably due to acronyms.

I probably would have taken at least a rank of Heavy Weapons way sooner but I’m happy with her the way she was.

I kind of had a Hank Hill type in my mind’s eye when I made her so, this made a lot of sense to make her the way I did.

Slowly, Nagisa blinks. She didn’t quite expect Honoka to get so flustered about it. Was it supposed to be a secret? She suspected it long ago, but didn’t say anything. Well, it’s nice to know for sure. “Huh. I kind of assumed you two were… Ummm… Yeah.”

Nagisa’s brain fries at hearing that. “Hah… Okay, yeah, we gotta get you in and lay down.”

Finally! Her apartment door! Nagisa takes a key ring from her pocket and fumbles around with it until she’s able to shove the correct key into the door’s lock.

“Hangovers are gonna suck for us both.”

Were you actually worried Ichitaiyo was a doomed character that was gonna elad to Nagisa's heart breaking? Or did you always believe in the power of yuri to undoome her by the narrative?
